Fortitude Valley

Once known for its edgy and slightly grungy aesthetic, The Valley, as it is known, has slightly dark undertones comparable to the Meat Packing District of New York City.
However, don’t let this deter you as The Valley has much to offer in the way of clubs, bars, culture and fashion. In terms of clubbing, The GPO Hotel, The Met and Alhambra are fun and danceable, while bars such as Press Club, The Bowry and Sunbar offer a more subdued and classy experience.
While you’re in the area, meander through Brunswick St Mall and explore the markets (held every Sunday), Brisbane designer Gail Elliott’s boutique, and Ric’s Bar for some quality local live music. If you are a music lover, the Valley also hosts many international world renowned acts in places such as The Zoo and Tivoli, which are well known for their genuine music credibility.
Right under The Zoo is Blonde Venus, which stocks a formidable range of cutting edge local and international fashion labels. This proximity of music and fashion is a defining feature of the Valley – there is a certain propinquity to the region, which is why it is such a popular area for those in the know.
