West End

Perhaps one of the most eclectic suburbs in Brisbane, West End is a melting pot of quality traditionalism and cool modernism. This slightly offbeat area is home to a plethora of cafes, bars and boutiques, mainly situated on Boundary Street, (street where Cantina is) and Melbourne Street.

The restaurants in particular are a cultural fusion of Greek, Lebanese, Mexican and Vietnamese influences to name but a few. Try Cantina for a good selection of this, but be sure to make a booking to this delectable destination. The same goes for the Gunshop Café, who do one of the best breakfast menus in Brisbane.

The nightlife is enticing in West End too. For a more chilled atmosphere (and the most delicious cocktails on this side of the River!) try Lychee Lounge, but if dancing is the agenda, visit Uber, a stylishly decked out club that often hosts … (fashion parades).

Of course part of West Ends quirky charm is its vintage haunts and second hand stores. One of the best is Box Vintage (for clothing) and Reverse Garbage (for anything! Chinese takeaway containers, buttons, perspex… the list goes on!).
